About Hinterland
Richard Harrington plays DCI Tom Mathias, a London detective with a troubled past who moves to Aberystwyth on the west coast of Wales and works with DI Mared Rhys on killings across the remote Ceredigion countryside. Created by Ed Thomas and Ed Talfan, it was filmed in both Welsh (as Y Gwyll) and English, and its bleak landscapes made it one of the first big Welsh noir hits. Three series aired from 2013 to 2016, and all of them stream in the U.S. on Acorn TV.
Season 3: Series 3: 8 episodes on the U.S. streaming version, first shown in Wales in late 2016. It closes the story of DCI Tom Mathias.
